What is our On Approval Policy?
Our selling philosophy is to allow customers to take home up to three rugs at a time (for up to 48 hours) to decide on sizes and colours suitable. We call this our "On Approval Policy". We do require a formal indentification of the customer and or a credit card number for security purposes. The Customer selection will not be processed on the card until they wish to purchase.


Do we offer an Interior Design Service?
We have a professional Interior Designer and we offer a free 1-hour consultation with her by appointment at the store. Mrs. Susan Boyzk-Purcel, BID, is available two to three Saturday afternoon's a month. Please Contact Us to book your appointment.


Do we offer a Delivery Service?
For our Senior and physically challenged customers we offer a Free Delivery Service within the Winnipeg perimeter highway. For all other customers within Winnipeg we charge a minimum fee for delivery of approximately $20.00 per rug for regular customers.


What does our Service Department offer?
Our full service department can take care of your every need when it comes to your area rugs. We offer several services such as:

• We can fringe or defringe most rugs
• We can repair damaged rugs
• We offer a special cleaning service
• We provide a Binding Service for binding edges
• We can cut, reinforce, shape and re-bind area rugs
• We can repair peg damage
• We can scotchguard
• We offer runner installation in hall and on stairways
• Cut plain broadloom carpet into special sizes & bind

Product Questions ....

Do we sell underlayments and undercushion?
We sell all types of underlayment and regular carpet undercushion. No slip underlays in pre-sized packages are available. The packages come in 3X5, 4X6, 5X8, 6X9, 8X10 and 9X12. We have 6ft wide rolls that can be cut to special sizes and also 2ft wide runner underlay that is sold by the linear foot.


Tell me more about your product line.
Most of our display rugs are machine made in Egypt, Turkey, Belgium, Israel and China and are made of 100% polypropylene/olefin. Hand-tufted rugs are usually 100% wool and are made in India or China.

Our Art Silk rugs (silk look) are machine (loom) made in Belgium and are bends of Acrylic Nylon/Viscose.

What are Custome Design Rugs?
The Area Rug Store is the largest dealer of locally made Custom Design Rugs manufactured by Abe Freisen of Custom Design Rug. Customer design rugs are manufactured from high quality nylon or polyester broadloom made to your size and customer pattern selection. Do we offer gift certificates?
Yes, gift certificates are available in any denomination. They make great wedding, anniversary and Christmas gifts!
